My internship in FBK, from Kazakhstan
Every year, Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi gives an opportunity to every student to pass an internship in any country in the world. This is an excellent opportunity for students of this University
This year from 5th to 9th February we visited FBK in the city of Trento, Italy. The meeting with the director of the FBK Center for Religious Sciences Prof. Marco Ventura and the researchers of the center was held on the first day. It should be noted that we were very well received, and helped to get the required results from the internship. The first two days we also took part in a very fascinating workshop: Religion, Video Games, and Simulated Worlds . Experience with professors from universities in Italy, Germany and also from companies in the field of games in Italy were broadly shared.
Further, each of the professors held a lecture for us and we consulted on various issues. We were shown the operation of the entire center: we were introduced to the technologies, people and the work process from within. Specialists from the center had conversations with us to tell us in detail about the work of their departments, which are part of the overall design of the mission of the research center: explore the relationships between religion and innovation, questioning the relationship between today’s religion and science, technology, politics, culture, the law.
Sarah Hejazi took us to the Diocesan Museum, where, with the help of the museum’s director, we listened to the history of the museum, the city, and were also generally acquainted with the exhibits. Then we visited the church, which especially impressed us.
We are students of al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, Department of Cultorology and Religious Studies. We are grateful to KazNU for the opportunity to receive such valuable experience. I am also grateful to FBK and to the researchers for their valuable experience. A special thank gores to Vittorio Guarnieri, Sara Hejazi for taking care of us, Isabella who helped out in all matters, and Prof. Marco Ventura for the opportunity to spend an internship in the center.
