The Leggimontagna 2016 Prize awarded to Marco Mondini
Leggimontagna 2016 assigned the 3rd place to "Andare per i luoghi della Grande Guerra" by Marco Mondini (Il Mulino).
The jury commented:
It is a historical and cultural novel rather than a guide. The choice of varied landscapes is accompanied by a narrative that does not require new and specific historical insights, nor social, but aims at being effective for a vaste audience, helping to dispel the rhetoric tone created in the century that has seeen those events.
The award, born in 2002, is held annually and is organized by ASCA Association of the CAI Carnia Sections – Canal del Ferro – Val Canale, in collaboration with the Mountain Community of Carnia and the Consorzio BIM Tagliamento, with the contribution of the Autonomous Region Friuli Venezia Giulia, the CRUP Foundation, the City of Tolmezzo and with the support of the University of Udine, the Cineteca del Friuli, the GISM – Italian Group of Mountain Writers and Journalists Association of Mountain.
