FBK: 60 years of research to build the future

October 26, 2022

Through its research at the frontier of knowledge, Fondazione Bruno Kessler has become a point of reference in Italy and Europe on critical topics in science that contribute to the well-being of individuals and the growth of society, such as artificial intelligence, digital transformation and the quantum revolution.

To mark its 60th anniversary, FBK, an institution connected to the local area and at the same time open to Europe, will be sharing with its stakeholders and with a wide and diverse audience the history that led to the creation of Istituto Trentino di Cultura and the figure of its founder, Bruno Kessler, as well as drawing a fresco on some of the frontier topics and prospects of its scientific work.

During the event scheduled for November 5 at 10:30 a.m. at the Teatro Sociale theater, Roberto Viola (Director of DG CNECT, European Commission) and Francesco Profumo (FBK President) will discuss future developments in research, opportunities and emerging issues. Anna Grassellino, director of Fermilab’s SQMS Superconducting Quantum Materials and Systems Centre and winner of the Breakthrough New Horizons Prize for physics, will also be joining the event virtually from Chicago. The event will be moderated by Corriere della Sera correspondent and columnist Massimo Sideri.
