FBK-ISR | 14th Action against racism Week | Riva del Garda

March 6, 2018

Valeria Fabretti and Sara Hejazi, researchers with the Center for Religious Studies, are at the 14th Action against Racism Week (Riva del Garda) to present the book "The mad dream of Neve Shalom Wahat Al-Salam", curated by Brunetto Salvarani

Within the Action against Racism Week, promoted annually by the National Anti-Discrimination Office (UNAR) with the aim of promoting places and opportunities to raise awareness on the value of an inclusive society, FBK-ISR proposes, in collaboration with the City of Riva del Garda, the presentation of the book The mad dream of Neve Shalom Wahat Al-Salam, curated by Brunetto Salvarani (Edizioni Terra Santa, 2017).

Designed to mark the twenty-five years since the inception of the Italian Association Friends of Neve Shalom Wahat al-Salam and twenty years since the death of Bruno Hussar, the book is the first text in Italy to retrace the story of a dream of peace that has become a place – the Neve Shalom – Wahat al Salam Village – in the land affected by the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Specialists in different disciplines offer articulate views, useful for reflection not only on the difficult and necessary “three-way dialogue” between Jews, Christians and Muslims, but also on the values of peace and the recognition of religious diversity.

Speakers at the presentation of the book include one of the authors, Raffaello Zini, FBK-ISR researchers Valeria Fabretti and Sara Hejazi, and the President of the Christian Hebrew Association of Alto Garda, Massimiliana Covati.
During the meeting the Storylab, a laboratory  for children aged 3 to 11 years, will be active. Refreshments will be served at the end of the event.

The initiative is part of the study and action activities within the FBK ISE Conflicts research line.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at the Civic Library, Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi 5 of Riva del Garda
