Monica Consolandi

Monica Consolandi is a researcher focused on the ethical and linguistic aspects of communication between healthcare professionals and patients/families. She earned her Ph.D. in Philosophy at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, Milan. She is a researcher consultant for the Pontifical Academy for Life, Vatican City, on topics including beginning/end of life and the ethics of technologies. She collaborates with several Italian institutions, including Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, the University of Milan, and Bambin Gesù Hospital; as well as international institutions, such as NOVA University, Lisbon (Portugal), NCCR Molecular Systems Engineering, Basel (Swiss), Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York City (USA), and Stony Brook University, New York (USA). Her ongoing research explores the implicit dimension of language and misunderstandings, applied (but not limited) to intelligent supportive systems.

Organized by FBK through the interdisciplinary collaboration between the Digital Health & Wellbeing and the Religious Studies centers, in cooperation with Interdisciplinary Group of Clinical Bioethics and Ethical Counseling in Health Care, Italian Society for Health Technology Assessment and Pontifical Academy for Life.
