Paweł Trybała
Paweł Trybała has been a researcher in the 3D Optical Metrology Unit (3DOM) at Fondazione Bruno Kessler since 2023. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Geodesy and Cartography (Geomatics) from the Wrocław University of Science and Technology (Poland) and earned his PhD there in 2024 in Environmental Engineering, Mining and Energy, with a thesis on “3D Surveying of Mining Environments using Simultaneous Localization and Mapping.” During his PhD, he was a visiting researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT, USA) and the Freiberg University of Mining and Technology (TUBAF, Germany). His research focuses on 3D surveying and robotics, including Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), robot autonomy in challenging environments, low-cost 3D data acquisition, and AI in the geospatial sector. He was recognized as one of the winners of the Young Surveyors’ Contest 2025 (Doctoral Degree Category) organized by the Council of European Geodetic Surveyors.
