Call for visiting experts 2018

The Provincial Council has approved with Resolution no. 953 dd. June 4, 2018 the “Call for Visiting Experts 2018”.

The “Visiting Expert 2018” call is aimed at strengthening the international dimension of the Trentino System of Higher Education and Research through the enhancement and attraction of experts and scholars, with high scientific profiles and proven international reputation, natives of Trentino but permanently affiliated with foreign universities, research, higher education or government institutions (pursuant to Provincial Law n. 14/2005).

Specifically, eligible candidates will meet the following requirements:

1. To have emigrated abroad after having resided in Trentino for at least 10 years
2. Possess a PhD or equivalent qualification or have at least four years of full-time experience in the field of research from the moment in which they obtained the diploma that provides direct access to doctoral studies
3. Have been permanently engaged abroad for at least three years in teaching or research activities at universities or research institutions of high scientific prestige. With the term “permanently” it is intended an active and continuous commitment of at least 30 months over the three-year period

Candidates must submit a scientific research or educational program in areas of strategic interest for the provincial system to be agreed upon and completed at:

• the University of Trento
• Fondazione Bruno Kessler
• Edmund Mach Foundation
• MUSE – Museum of Science
• Public research organizations with legal or operational offices in the Province of Trento at the date of publication of this call

The visiting period will last between 3 and 6 months and will normally be granted for uninterrupteed periods. The financial resources allocated to the call are € 150,000.00. The deadline for submitting applications is October 2, 2018, at 12.00 am. The call and the forms are available here.
