Citizens and health: is a “border” keeping them apart?
TrentinoSalute4.0 is meeting health workers and citizens in Florence at the 13th Risk Management in Health Forum
An ever more pervasive technological wave. An increasingly active and digital citizen. But also increasingly impatient patients. How can the “border” that separates citizens from health services in the current healthcare system be dissolved?
TrentinoSalute4.0, the competency center for the development of digital health in Trentino, has organized a discussion on this topic during the 13th Risk Management in Health Forum, which is being held in Florence (Fortezza da Basso) November 27-30, 2018. The event, which is entitled “The vanished border between citizens and health: a journey with new eyes. Healthcare professionals and citizens meet thanks to enabling technologies and a functional organization”, is scheduled in Florence for Friday, November 30, 2018, at 9.00 am.
Will the Italian healthcare system manage to accompany the current digital revolution or will it have to just play defense? Will we be able to seize the opportunities that human capital and technologies offer? Will experts design technologies that understand and decode the people’s behavior (health professionals and citizens) in a humanistic dimension?
The speakers invited by TrentinoSalute4.0 will try to answer these and other questions so as to embark, together with the Forum’s audience, on a “journey” towards “Health 4.0”. The topic at the center of the working session will be the change that needs to occur to tear down, through digital technologies, the “border” between citizens and health services. In order to be sustainable, the model advanced by TrentinoSalute4.0 needs to get rid of both physical and mental barriers to undertake a “journey with new eyes”.
The event, that is taking place in Florence, is dedicated this year to the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the National Health Service, will be the venue and occasion for all health professionals (1200 speakers incuding health professionals, doctors, managers, nursing staff, volunteers, etc.) for a discussion on what needs to be done today to change the National Health System so that it is more efficient and able to respond to the health needs of citizens, thanks also to technologies applied to patient safety.
The 13th Risk Management in Health Forum atop in Florence concludes the 2018 road show with which the TrentinoSalute4.0 digital health competence center presented itself to some of the most significant Italian scientific communities in the industry.
The work will be broadcast live on the TrentinoSalute4.0 YouTube channel:

While waiting the works to start, here is a brief interview with Claudio Dario, health director of the Trento Province Healthcare System, to whom we asked: “Are we faced with an ever more pervasive technological wave, with increasingly active and digital citizens. But also with increasingly “im-patient” patients? ”
