FBK – ARES at the Green Economy Festival

March 11, 2019

The Unit led by Luigi Crema involved the public at the event with workshops on hydrogen mobility

Also this year Trento hosted Green Week, the Green Economy Festival promoted by Italy Post, the Symbola Foundation and the University of Trento.

The event, this year in its eighth edition, was divided into two parts once again: February 26 through 28, a tour to discover the companies of excellence, “Le Fabbriche della Sostenibilità“, The Factories of Sustainability”, and March 1 through 3, the Green Economy Festival that gathered in Trento guests and experts to explore, together with the public, the multiple application domains of the sustainable economy through talks, workshops, seminars and exhibitions.

Fondazione Bruno Kessler was included in the rich program with the ARES Unit, which has been committed to research in innovative energy solutions for years.

The team led by Prof. Luigi Crema contributed to the festival with a workshop and some demos on hydrogen mobility that saw great participation and interest, thus proving the public’s interest and desire to learn more on the potential applications of hydrogen in the energy field.

Saturday, March 2, at the School of Sociology, the panel discussion The Way of Hydrogen. For a zero-emission and renewable future in Italy, involved representatives of leading companies such as Alstom, SNAM, Sapio and Solid Power who shared their experiences and technological development projects for the use of hydrogen as an energy carrier to support the transition towards a zero-emission mobility. At the end of the workshop, MISE presented the future scenarios for the adoption of hydrogen in Italy that will lead to a gradual decarbonization of the national economic system.

The demos held on Sunday, March 3 at MUSE involved young and old in exploring the hydrogen molecule, observing its application in the transportation sector through a model of hydrogen-powered cars powered by solar energy.

The public’s enthusiasm and participation have shown a growing interest in technological innovations in this critical sector for sustainable development in an ever nearer future.
