FBK joins the event “M’illumino di meno” 2017

Fondazione Bruno Kessler joins the event “M’illumino di meno” launched by the radio program Caterpillar Rai Radio2 and organized on February 24th, 2017.

Since 2009 FBK has completed several actions to improve efficiency of buildings and awareness of people’s on energy savings. Among the several measures implemented, it is worth highlighting  the improvements to the technological plants, the installation of the photovoltaic systems and the conversion to  LED lighting. These actions allowed the reduction of electricity consumption by nearly 2 ML KWh and a decrease by over 350,000 cubic meters of the consumption of methane thus granting significant economic savings to the organization.

The good results achieved in terms of energy savings were possible also thanks to the cooperation of FBK employees who always adopt virtuous actions such as turning off the lights and stand-by equipment, or by using the stairs instead of the elevators.

Besides switching off the unnecessary lights, FBK will also:

– lower temperature by 1°C

– decrease by 2 hours operation of UTA

– reduce night lights

– donate through Bring the Food app leftovers from company canteen
