Scholarships for young researchers on history of the media

Applications must be submitted by August 15, 2018

An opportunity for young researchers who are working on the history of the media or on the relationship between history and the media as their doctoral or post-doctoral projects. As part of the “Study Week” organized by Istituto Storico Italo-Germanico of Fondazione Bruno Kessler, 10 scholarships will be made available this year to allow young people to discuss their research before an audience of specialists.

The event will be held in Trento September 19 through 21, 2018 and will be dedicated to mediatization and mediality of history between the modern and the contemporary age.

Applications must be submitted via e-mail by August 15, 2018 to the FBK-ISIG Administration Office ([email protected]) following the instructions provided here and in the call.

The scholarships help cover travel expenses (up to €200), accommodation and free meals. The choice of the language (Italian, German, English) for the presentation is at the scholar’s discretion, and attendance at the study program will be compulsory.

Talks by experienced scholars have been scheduled in addition to the presentations on the scholarship related research.

The discussion will be hosted by Gabriele Balbi, professor of media studies at the University of Italian Switzerland, Simone Derix, professor of contemporary history at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Paola Molino, researcher on modern history at the University of Padua, Raffaella Perin, professor of history of Christianity at the Catholic University of Brescia.
