October 26, 2017

280 students will implement an application to monitor air quality within the new project of the Alternanza Scuola-lavoro (Combining School with Work training project for high school students) program

They will collaborate for one year with FBK researchers to create an application that can monitor air quality in SAT mountain lodges. 280 students and seven high school located in Trentino will participate in the SenSAT Alternanza Scuola-Lavoro project, inaugurated on October 24 at the Buonarroti – Pozzo di Trento High School.

“The exciting result of our teamwork with the DomoSens” project” explained SenSAT project manager Pierluigi Bellutti (FBK), “has confirmed that we are on the right track. SenSAT is not just a new proposal in continuity with the previous one, but it becomes the implementation of a real school-work combination model that is enriched by relevant training contributions from national professional associations. All the legal part involved in the project, with a vision that goes beyond the specific context, is ensured by representatives of the National Forensic Council. The design activity will be supported by representatives of the Association for Industrial Design, while project managers are also trying to involve Federazione Trentina della Cooperazionen to start a school cooperative that will deal with the product developed. Another new element is the set up, thanks to SAT, of a local laboratory with absolutely innovative solutions for IoT (Internet of Things). A laboratory where researchers will work with schools for mutual growth. A significant investment in future generations in terms of capability to innovate and positively impact the local area”.

The inauguration was also attended by Michela Baldessari (member of the Board of Directors- Industrial Design Association – Veneto and TAA), Filippo Manfredi (Fondazione Caritro Director), Claudio Bassetti (SAT President) and Carla Broccardo (CNF council member). The institutes participating in the project will be: ITT Buonarroti-Pozzo (Trento), Curie Science High School (Pergine), Depero (Rovereto) and Vittoria (Trento) Arts High Schools, Guetti Science High School (Tione), Marconi (Rovereto) Technical High School, Prati Classical Studies High School (Trento), Tambosi-Battisti (Trento) High School.
