Giovanni Corti

Giovanni Corti is a Research Assistant in the  Security & Trust Unit at Fondazione Bruno Kessler’s Center for Cybersecurity. He has gained experience at the intersection of research and international standardization, serving as an Invited Expert at the World Wide Web Consortium and as a Delegate at ETSI.

His cybersecurity research focuses on developing threat modeling practices capable of identifying threats to security, privacy, and user safety, addressing the fundamental questions “What can go wrong?” and “Who may be adversely impacted and how?”. Adopting a “secure-by-design” approach in emerging technologies such as age verification and decentralized credentials makes it possible to identify not only threats to the system but also threats to the user, such as surveillance, censorship, and profiling.

In the field of standardization, Giovanni serves as an editor for the “Threat Model for The Web” at the W3C and participates in the development of the harmonized ETSI EN 304-617 standard for browser cybersecurity requirements under the Cyber Resilience Act.
