August 14, 2018

Trento is hosting experts in Python language for research from all over Europe

EuroSciPy, the conference dedicated to the use of programming language Python in the scientific field will be held in Italy for the first time.

From August 28 to September 1, 2018, over 200 international experts will be meeting in Trento to discuss the development of one of the most used languages in research on a global scale. The conference, at its eleventh edition this year, has been organized by Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK) and brings together experts from academia, research and industry.

Valerio Maggio (MPBA Unit – FBK) who, with Ernesto Arbitrio (MPBA Unit – FBK), is responsible for organizing the conference, explains: “Python has had great success among researchers as it enables users to program even without necessarily having specific IT training. In this way, scientists working in different disciplines, such as biology, geology or others, can easily use it effectively “.

The works will take place at the APSS offices in via Briamasco, 2 in Trento. The first two days will be dedicated to specialization courses, while the plenary conference will start on August 30.

The initiative is supported by Python Italia, EPS (EuroPython Society) and PSF (Python Software Foundation).
