After studying physics in Milan, I moved to the United States where I obtained a PhD in physics, working specifically on instrumentation for large neutrino physics experiments. I joined FBK as a researcher on silicon-based particle detectors. When not at FBK, you can find me riding or hiking around mountains.

    Recently, some friends asked me about a news story concerning the LHCb (an experiment at CERN’s LHC). It was announced as the discovery of a heavier, shorter-lived version of the proton, and while that may seem interesting, what really got me thinking was something else.
