3 Visiting Scientist positions at FBK-ECT* for Ukrainian researchers
Candidates are invited to express their interest no later than April 20th, 2022 for the open positions at the European Centre for Theoretical Studies in Nuclear Physics and Related Areas (ECT*) of the Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK).
The scientific community can make impact beyond its research boundaries. This is demonstrated, at such a critical historical moment, by the many initiatives of solidarity and support to the population affected by the war in Ukraine, promoted by research organizations, universities and institutions.
The ECT* Center of FBK (European Centre for Theoretical Studies in Nuclear Physics and Related Areas) has recently launched a call for 3 positions as junior or senior “visiting scientist” addressed exclusively to Ukrainian citizens and residents entitled to protection measures within European countries for the events that are upsetting their country.
The fellowships have a duration of 3 to 6 months and provide, in addition to financial support, assistance in finding accommodation and dealing with health and legal matters.
Prof Gert Aarts, ECT* Director, states: “Scientists have a collective responsibility to promote peace and stability via scientific research. As a European institution, we have an obligation to support those who are in need or under threat and I am very pleased ECT* is able to contribute at this moment in time.”
The deadline for applications is April 20th, while the visiting period may begin from May 23rd onwards.
