Call for the selection of FBK-ISIG Center director published

Fondazione Bruno Kessler in Trento has launched the selection process for the director of the Italian-German Historical Institute (FBK-ISIG) for the three-year period 2023-2025. Eligible candidates will be professors or researchers in History or other disciplines in the humanities and social sciences, affiliated with public or private universities or research institutions of international standing. Applications may be submitted by July 18, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. as indicated in the FBK website dedicated section.

This appointment as well is part of the design of an organizational and operational model that the Foundation has initiated in 2020 and provides for a strong investment in the capacity for strategic vision, in the consolidation of scientific expertise, in the strengthening of managerial skills.

The FBK  Italian-German Historical Institute

The FBK Italian-German Historical Institute is a research center of excellence for international scientific exchange. It places particular emphasis on the history of Italy and Germany, always within the broader European context, from the early modern period to the present day. The FBK-ISIG research team includes permanent researchers, collaborators and fellows, who develop projects with other institutions and conduct individual studies in the fields of political, religious, social, cultural, legal and economic history. Research activities are highly interdisciplinary, transnational, and in constant dialogue with the latest international historiographic trends. The Center has a specialized library, which holds one of the most extensive collections in the field of German-Italian historical literature. FBK-ISIG also publishes a series of books and periodicals to circulate the results of individual and collective research produced by the Institute and by external scholars who collaborate with the Center.
