Innovation comes from research and translates into value when it meets companies. From this vision comes “FBK for Innovation,” the new LinkedIn newsletter of Fondazione Bruno Kessler, designed as a space that connects scientific excellence with industrial application. A platform for sharing that highlights the value of research as it translates into technologies, solutions, and opportunities for the production system.

With this initiative, FBK reinforces its role as a bridge between the laboratory and the market, proposing a narrative that does not limit itself to telling scientific results but highlights their concrete impact on companies, public administrations, and citizens. “FBK for Innovation” is thus part of a broader strategy that aims to build a dynamic innovation ecosystem, capable of enhancing skills, infrastructure, and relationships at a territorial and European level.

In the editorial signed by Secretary General Andrea Simoni, this trajectory clearly emerges: growth rooted in the Foundation’s historical skills, from microsystems to artificial intelligence, which today translates into the ability to develop technological platforms and scalable solutions. A trajectory supported by participation in major European programs, investment in advanced infrastructure, and increasingly close collaboration with the industrial world.

The newsletter describes a model in which research is not confined to laboratories but becomes a lever for development, accelerating the transition to new industrial chains, as in the case of hydrogen, or contributing to digital transformation through technologies such as the cloud-edge continuum and artificial intelligence. At the same time, dedicated initiatives such as Proof of Concept programs and doctorates in industrial innovation show how ideas and skills can be supported throughout the entire journey from scientific discovery to the market.

FBK for Innovation” was created to offer a concrete look at how research can translate into innovation and impact for the production system, linking experiences, projects, and visions. The first edition is already available here: subscribe to the newsletter to receive future insights and continue exploring key issues in technological and industrial innovation.
