This month, Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK) celebrates two extraordinary success stories and highlights important contributions in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). Elena Crespi, a researcher at FBK’s Center for Sustainable Energy, has been included among Forbes Italia’s 100 Most Successful Women, an accolade that celebrates her significant impact on Italy’s growth. Another accolade is AgrifoodTEF, selected among the Digital Success Stories by the European Commission for its innovative contribution to the development of service infrastructures in agrifood.

Furthermore, the experiment with Anffas Trentino represents a crucial step forward in the use of AI to improve care services. This project aims to increase interaction and options for users of Anffas centers by exploiting new technologies. 

Finally, the discussion on deepfakes, led by directors Leone and Ranise, highlights the challenges and complexities of AI regulation, a topic of great relevance nowadays.

Highlights:

  • Elena Crespi from FBK among the 100 successful women according to FORBES Italia (HALL OF FAME) – The researcher from the Center for Sustainable Energy has been selected among the 100 female personalities who have contributed to the growth of our country.
  • AgrifoodTEF among the European Commission’s DIGITAL success stories (HALL OF FAME) – The European project, coordinated by FBK and involving 34 partners, develops service infrastructures for the validation of products based on artificial intelligence and robotics in the agrifood sector.
  • Innovation in care services: FBK and Anffas Trentino join forces for a technological future in support services (RESEARCH) – New technologies and artificial intelligence are at the heart of the framework agreement to improve interaction and increase options for users of Anffas Trentino Centers.
  • Regulating and learning about Artificial Intelligence through the challenges of deepfakes (EVENTS) – The regulation of AI is a complex and multifaceted issue that requires a balanced approach.
