Luigi Riz

I’m a young AI research scientist at the Technologies of Vision Lab TeV at Fondazione Bruno Kessler. My research focuses on image and 3D scene understanding, with applications ranging from drone imagery analysis to indoor and outdoor LiDAR and RGB-D scene segmentation. Recently, I’ve been exploring the adaptation of 2D Vision-Language Models (VLMs) to 3D and contributing to the development of 3D VLMs.
Beyond academic research, I work on the practical application of computer vision techniques in industrial and European projects, tackling challenges in areas such as 3D reconstruction, sports analytics and quality control. These collaborations allow me to bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI research and real-world applications.
