Gloria Gottardi
Gloria Gottardi, a physicist, has worked as a researcher at FBK since 2001 with expertise in thin-film deposition and surface treatments by low-pressure plasma-assisted techniques (PECVD and PVD). In 2005 she was postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Chemistry at Rutgers University in New Jersey, USA, where she specialized in atomic layer deposition (ALD). In 2021, she joined FBK’s center for Sustainable Energy as senior researcher and scientific advisor on advanced materials. Her expertise focuses primarily on surface treatments and the development of innovative nanostructured materials using low pressure plasma-assisted techniques (PECVD and PVD) and ALD, as well as their physicochemical characterization using various analytical techniques (e.g. XPS). Her research interests regard functional materials (catalysts, protective coatings, barrier coatings, TCO, carbon-based materials, …) in both academic research and technology-support activities, mainly for energy-related applications.
