Leonardo Canello

Leonardo Canello is a member of the FBK JointLab for Cybersecurity.
His work focuses on supporting the design, implementation, and validation of digital architectures built on security-by-design and privacy-by-design principles. In particular, he is responsible for the operation and management of complex Linux-based IT infrastructure, applying advanced Zero Trust security models and actively contributing to cyber incident prevention, monitoring, and response.
Drawing on technical experience gained through the GARR-LAB project, his work as a full-stack developer, and the administration of an advanced home lab environment, Leonardo brings to the lab strong expertise in cloud infrastructure, containerization, automation, and network security.
His commitment to protecting citizens’ digital rights is reflected in a hands-on approach to self-hosting and data sovereignty, with a particular interest in transparency in public administration and the adoption of free and open-source software.
