The energy of the future
During the Pianeta 2030 Festival, Center for Sustainable Energy Director Luigi Crema took part in a panel on innovation for sustainability, highlighting the role of industrial ecosystems, hydrogen, and sustainable batteries in the energy transition. As reported by Corriere della Sera, his remarks emphasized the need to strengthen European programs supporting the industrialization of clean technologies and to overcome fragmented policies in order to accelerate the development of sustainable markets.
Data and cybersecurity for innovation
Digital infrastructure, data, and cybersecurity were the focus of the event Italia in Rete – Digital Ecosystems, organized by RCS Academy and HPE in collaboration with Corriere della Sera. Silvio Ranise, Director of FBK’s Center for Cybersecurity, spoke during the session on the value of data in the age of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, emphasizing that intelligent, secure, and reliable networks are a strategic asset for fostering innovation, competitiveness, and the resilience of Italy’s industrial system.
From experimental AI to real-world impact
Artificial intelligence can transform healthcare only when supported by reliable infrastructure, secure data, and close collaboration among researchers, institutions, and healthcare professionals. This was the message delivered by FBK Secretary General Andrea Simoni during the panel “AI and Data in Healthcare: From Experimentation to Real-World Impact,” held as part of the Healthcare & Pharma Talk organized by RCS Academy and Corriere della Sera. The discussion highlighted how the value of AI lies in its ability to translate research into practical solutions that improve prevention, diagnosis, and care pathways while promoting responsible, interoperable innovation that complies with the European regulatory framework.
Human relationships in the digital age
In an article published in L’Osservatore Romano, Debora Tonelli of the Center for Religious Studies reflects on the relationship between real-life relationships and virtual connections, examining how digital technologies are transforming the way people communicate and build social bonds. Drawing on the dynamics of hyperconnectivity, the author warns against the risk of delegating fundamental aspects of the human experience—such as listening, responsibility, and reciprocity—to digital tools.
