Save us from online hate
The weekly magazine Grazia dedicates an in-depth feature to the phenomenon of online hate, examining its impact on society and possible strategies to combat it. Hydrogen Hub: Trentino accelerates research
The new Hydrogen Hub project in Rovereto—coordinated by FBK, and in particular by the Center for Sustainable Energy led by Luigi Crema—received extensive coverage in both local and national media. RaiNews, Corriere del Trentino, L’Adige, and Il T reported on the launch of the infrastructure dedicated to research, testing, and technology transfer, built around an innovative “one-stop shop” model for the hydrogen sector. The initiative is designed to foster collaboration among research institutions, companies, and public bodies. Laboratories, pilot plants, and testing facilities will support the development of new technologies for the energy transition while strengthening the region’s innovation ecosystem.

Smart glasses to support first responders
An ANSA news release, later picked up by numerous national and local media outlets, highlights the testing of smart glasses developed by Certottica Group with the contribution of FBK’s Center for Digital Health and Wellbeing to support rescue operations in challenging environments. The smart glasses enable rescuers to share images, videos, and information in real time with the operations center and other team members, improving coordination and speeding up decision-making. The technology aims to make emergency operations more effective and safer by providing rescuers with innovative tools that facilitate communication and immediate access to essential information in the field.

PoC by Trentino: From research to market
L’Adige, Il T, and numerous local and industry publications highlighted the results of the latest edition of PoC by Trentino, the program promoted by Fondazione Bruno Kessler and the University of Trento with the support of the Autonomous Province of Trento and several partners from the regional socio-economic community. Twenty projects were selected and awarded €1.4 million to help researchers develop Proofs of Concept capable of transforming scientific results into new entrepreneurial opportunities. The initiative supports the validation and testing of technologies, providing selected teams with the tools needed to bring their solutions closer to market and encourage the creation of innovative new companies. It represents another step toward strengthening the link between research, innovation, and the regional production system.

An Italian quantum Story
The July issue of Le Scienze features an extensive article on the development of quantum technologies in Italy, tracing the emergence of the national ecosystem and highlighting the main research areas opening new opportunities in computing, communications, and sensing. Among the organizations featured is Fondazione Bruno Kessler, recognized for its work on SQUID quantum sensors, devices capable of detecting extremely weak magnetic fields that could one day be used in more accurate portable magnetic resonance instruments and other biomedical diagnostic applications.

Compiti@Casa: Research against educational poverty
Il Sole 24 Ore reports on the results of the Tasks@Casa project, a national initiative to combat educational poverty involving schools, universities, and third-sector organizations. During the school year that has just ended, the program achieved greater continuity in student participation and a significant reduction in tutoring program dropout rates. FBK-IRVAPP, FBK’s Research Center for the Evaluation of Public Policies is responsible for assessing the project’s social impact, helping measure its effects on educational outcomes and the effectiveness of the collaborative model involving schools, families, and local communities. The findings confirm that personalized support and strong educational partnerships can increase student engagement and reduce the risk of school dropout.
